Example of RAMI outer recoil spring wear - FYI
« on: March 18, 2020, 05:53:30 PM »
Long time P-07 owner, newer RAMI BD owner. Love the new 'lil chunk! Shoots so good.

Was cleaning it today after time at the range. I shoot 147 FMJ Angelfire exclusively, if you're curious. Here's wear after 650 rounds. I was curious to see if the CZ recommendation for every 500 rounds bore out. Basically, the "old" spring was about 3.5cm and the brand new unused CZ spring was about 3.75.  No problems yet but the difference was enough that I went ahead and changed the spring.

Thanks to this forum and the great guidance I ordered some extra springs the same day I purchased the RAMI!

Next question - when do y'all replace the entire recoil assembly? Just curious.

I'm curious... Did you have any failures with old spring?

Spring weight doesn't mean they will have exact the same length...
I've got 2 brand new #14 springs for CZ75 Compact and both have different length.

After initial break-in I'm averaging about 1000 rounds on outer spring.
I replace the complete spring set every 3rd change.  Into my 3rd complete set >6000 now.
Such a sweet pistol, feels like an extension of my hand.

Hi, Jurek - Yes, I did.

I have NO problems with feed and extract of this round:

I DID have problems with feeding of this round:

I haven't looked up the specs of these rounds to see if there are different measurements of the round, shape of tip, etc. The law enforcement HST is less $/round so I wanted to see how it worked. The LE HST round feeds and ejects great out of my P-07 and my Grand Powers - P1D and Stribog.

I won't have a chance for a while to test out the LE HST with the new RAMI spring...don't know when I'll be back at the range...

Thanks for the information re: no relation between spring weight and length.

That's funny... I didn't realize the recoil kit for RAMI needs to be replaced so frequently... In my case it would be every other month  8)
Thx God P-01 gets flat spring, so I'm ok for some time...

I change the outer spring when my pistol starts flinging brass into the next county about 1,000 - 1,500 rounds and always keep a new set in the pistol for SD.  The springs that came in my Rami failed in less than 250 rounds with the inter spring broken in 3 pcs. the CZ tech said it was a heat treat problem with one batch of springs.
