CZ P10 F, not exactly thrilled with its trigger
« on: April 08, 2020, 10:08:36 AM »
Hello everybody,
recently I acquired my first CZ pistol, which is really tricky here, according to our childish gun laws. This is me and my new CZ.

Anyway, I really like this gun except for one thing: its trigger behaviour. I mean, OK you press it and you reach the edge, just before the "point of no return". However, with this trigger you have another 2-3 mm to cross, before the gun fires. This is something I don't like and I really didn't know about it since this gun is pretty new here and there are no enough reviews yet. I would rather it had a krisp edge, if you know what I mean. What are your thoughts about? Is there a way to improve that?

The image bellow shows exactly what I want to express with my poor english:

Thank you for your time.

I just tried mine with an empty chamber and with a snap cap. It has about 1mm or less of creep between the wall and when it goes bang. I've never really noticed it when range shooting. I have to make a slow conscious trigger pull to feel it. For a factory trigger it's better than any of my other polymer guns with the exception of maybe my HK VP9SK, and then they are so close it's not even worth discussing. How many rounds have you put through the gun? It might get better once you have a few hundred rounds through it. I would say 2-3mm of creep is on the high side of the spec range.

OK, I will wait and see what happens after some hundreds of shots because so far I haven't managed to shoot not even one due to coronavirus quarantine.

Buy laser cartridge and laser target. No better way to "shoot" your gun during quarantine  ::)

Yeah you really need some live fire time to know how it really performs. I've had many many pistols that had what felt like awful triggers but in live fire they were 180 degrees different. Put 500 rounds through it and see how you feel after that.

Why not? Been shooting my .22's into a bullet trap in the basement while we're quarantining for the china syndrome.

Ok. I know. I've been shooting my BB in my basement.
But that was for this thread.. His P-10F doesn't look like .22  ;)

If you’re not happy with it just change it to the HB Industries trigger. Much better IMO. Flatter, wider trigger shoe, shorter take up, crisper break and shorter reset. Also comes with two reduced weight striker springs (-10% and -15%).

I have a trap that can handle the little 9mm too but it's just a bit loud for the basement.

Nice... I'd like to have it as well.. but my neighbors are not deaf. Additionally I'm Illinoisan so I'd expect SWAT in my driveway after first mag.  :o O0

Sorry, a simple trigger replacement won't change travel, break or reset.
For Player66, your trigger will almost definitely improve after some initial wear, but it
will never feel as nice as a well used hammer fired gun. Dryfire, dry fire, dry fire . . .

OK guys, I 've got it, I am gonna use the gun and hopefully the trigger will feel better after some use. Moreover, as I understand, it will never feel like the trigger of a hammer fired gun. And as for the laser cartridge and target, that's a cool idea. I hope I can find here, although it's a bit hard to play with guns in my country :)
