TSO Magwell Questions
« on: April 14, 2020, 10:11:50 PM »
I am in the market for a 2019 Model Tactical Sport Orange.  I am trying to do all the research I can but have not found a satisfactory answer to the following:
  • Does anyone make a Tactical Sport Orange compatible magwell that doesn't require blending and perfectly matches the frame?  (Black is a major plus)

  • If not, does CZ Custom, Cajun Gun Works or another shop offer this service with the OEM magwell?

Thanks for your help!

CZC sell two magwell for the TSO and Czechmate. One is the big magwell and the other is smaller and firs the IPSC box.

It’s easy to blend the magwell. Mark what needs to removed using a permanent marker. Start with a 180 grit dremel sanding drum and progress to 320, 600 and then polish it using flitz or mother’s mag polish.

Here’s a pic of my blended TSO magwell:

Thank you for the response.  I have seen both of the CZ Custom mag wells you referenced.  However, they both need to be blended based on other posts I've read.  I'd also like the magwell to match the gun (be black) otherwise I'll have to get the part coated to match.  Another hassle I'd like to dodge.

Blending the frame is something I'd prefer to leave to the professionals (if blending is unavoidable) and quite frankly isn't a project I want to tackle.   I'm mildly annoyed this is overlooked from the factory by CZ for a gun that's marketed toward competition use.

I have been running my factory magwell that is not blended from the factory all year and have not had any issues with mag changes, the edges that are left are not enough of an impediment to cause an issue IMHO. That said I have thought about doing it for aesthetic purposes as I think it looks really nice, I.e. example in the post up thread! Hubba hubba![emoji2]

well.. I went with the big ones.. silver. minor blending required - which was fairly easy compared to switching out triggers or fitting a disco.

once done the mag wells take a beating inside.. It make look perfect for a minute, but after that not so much.

what I like a lot about the big ones is my hands and pinky finger make contact while I shoot.. more contact area means a bit more control .. the smaller ones help feed the mags ok, but not nearly as useful imo.

I blended my magwell also, but I’m pretty certain an unblended one would not cause the magazine to hangup.  Why not get one and try it unblended.
