Building ARs is Addictive but Productive
« on: May 27, 2020, 07:22:05 PM »
Three years ago I started down the AR rabbit hole and built my first rifle with the help of this forum.

https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=90417.0

Since then I've built (top to bottom) a 5.56 pistol, a .300 BLK pistol, a 6.5 Grendel hunting rifle, and made numerous upgrades to that original AR. My current build I'm about to start is an AR 308 (waiting on 1 more part).

Oh, and the leftover parts from upgrades are miraculously forming themselves into another rifle. ;D

Since I'm running out of space I may need to pick up a new hobby, like building Glocks or (better yet) Cajunizing my CZs. I've done some upgrades to my Ruger LCP 2 that went well. I feel like I've picked up enough skills now to be way more confident in taking apart my CZs than I was in 2017.

Lost count of how many times I've told myself (and my wife) "this is my last AR build."

I have one upper receiver and one lower receiver along with the lower parts kit and carbine stock kit saved for a possible grandchild some day.  Just need a barrel, sights, scope and mount for it, someday, maybe.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Nice! Now you've given me another idea for a build. I can see it going like this: "Honey, I know I have all those rifles now, but ammo for this one will be cheaper. And I can practice way more. Plus the kids can shoot it...think about the children!"  :D
