Status of Bonesteel Arms as of 2020
« on: June 25, 2020, 05:46:13 PM »
Hi,

I was wondering if anybody else knows the status of Bonesteel Arms? I made an order late in March. A while ago I wanted to drop a couple items from the order. I haven't heard back from Chris at all. I understand the time it can take to manufacture things at a small scale, and don't mind a long wait for a part. The lack of communication is frustrating however.

Oh, also;

Does anybody know where to look for a original folding stock stateside? I have an old D-Technik Sporter with a thumbhole stock. I want to make the rifle a little more handy.

Not unusual, even before the virus panic they were slow to ship & reply.
They’re a small operation. But I’ve ordered their a Galil folding stock & folding brace. Both times it was about two weeks before my item shipped.
But both times I did eventually get a reply, and an email when my orders shipped. Great quality stuff, well worth the wait.
RTGparts used to have folders but they’re out. eBay has been a good source for parts including folders but it takes patience. They’re not cheap anymore.

Gunbroker did have a few from someone selling out of a parts kit.  This guy: https://www.gunbroker.com/a/feedback/profile/1139775

Maybe try PMing him.

If you get stuck, I can remove one from one of my Vz2008s, but it'll have a black teflon coating...

Thanks RSR, you've been a big help. I saw that the Zhukov adapters by RS are in stock at various dealers, so I got that and the Magpul stock for the meantime. I got a good deal on an old Waffen Werks sporter, it's my project gun. It's probably going to end up costing me a bit more than a CSA, but the whole process of diving into the rabbit's hole is worth it as a hobby.

I wasn't aware the RS Regulate adapters are back in stock.  That's great news, and yes, that's what I am eventually going to swap out at least one of my OEM folders too...
I also have a Czech folding mechanism for a fixed stock that I'll eventually use on one of my Czech made guns (early Dtechniks like yours), but also haven't gotten around to yet.

Regardless, I too am a BIG fan of folding stocks on any gun that will easily and affordably accept them.

For future reference, Bonesteel sells a lot of their stuff through CNC Warrior, who are usually pretty good about shipping on time and keeping in touch with their customers.

FWIW,  my understanding is that Bonesteel designs and CNCW manufactures.

A little late and not stateside but I recently received an original folding stock from euro-military.com in Czech. It cost $90 delivered and arrived in about 4 days. No kidding.

Does anyone have experience with ordering from Bonesteel lately?  I'm interested in their Galil type stock for the Vz.58 and it says backordered.

On a related note, does anyone know if it adds more drop to help with lining up the iron sights?  Another option is this from CNC Warrior, so I'll take any feedback on either one.

Likely less drop/straighter stock.  CNCW makes Bonesteel's items.  Chris BS designs them.
