Preparing CZ52 for use
« on: July 04, 2020, 07:21:34 PM »
Hi all

I’m a new owner of a 1953 CZ52 and am looking for advise before I take it to the range for the first time.

I bought it from a guy that had never shot it and upon inspection it looks like it has never been used since it was armory refurbished.

There are no wear marks on the slide or frame, which is a little stiff and hard to rack. Also the mags are original gray parkerized but hard to remove.

I know I need to clean and oil it as well as install the new firing pin and roller that I am waiting for.

I’d appreciate any other things I need to do or look out for.

Thank you

I bought one of the surplus vz 52 pistols a few years ago. I'll I've done is clean, lube and feed.

It works perfectly with the original magazine. The "cz mfg" fake magazine is not as good, so I recommend avoiding them (they show up for both the vz 52 and the vz 82/CZ83).
I don't look like my avatar!

Be sure to do a "pencil test" to ensure that the decocker is working properly.
