Why are CZ-75 Kadet magazines so expensive???

So I've been looking at the Kadet kit lately and looked up the price of magazines. They are pricey!!! Why  are these mags so expensive? Does CZ not make a lot of these mags, or are they unable to keep up with demand? So far the cheapest price I've found is $50, which seems insanely expensive for a rimfire magazine.

CZ mags are a bit pricey, regardless of model, IMO. The Kadet mags are actually a rimfire mag inside a double stack mag so the manufacturing is more complex.

For the newer model CZ's- P07, P09, P10- yeah they've been expensive. However, the CZ-75 mags can be had for cheap if you get mecgar 75 mags.

The SP-01/Shadow 2 Kadet magazines are different from the CZ Kadet/Kadet 2 magazines. Remember that the Kadet 2 kit also work with the SP-01 frame.

Re-reading my response, I came to realize that both the dedicated SP-01 Kadet and the non-specific Kadet II work with the SP-01 frame.

Their magazines, although dissimilar, should also work.

The question is whether they’ll feed correctly and keep the slide locked back when empty if the mags are mixed-matched.

The steel body mags for the original Kadet and Kadet II kit are not available from Mecgar.  The cheapest I found them was maybe $45 a few years ago.  The regular CZ75 mags from Mecgar are of equal quality and about 1/2 the price of those from CZ.  They are possibly the same.

you can say that for many things, like milk, cars ....ect.

I bought mine when they were 30 bucks.

Padwan, you need to remember about TIME.  Such as when things come out and how long they been available.  Over time the price on many things go up.  So just consider yourself and others late to the party.   Its no different when i bought some of my toys.  Like when i bought a Used Python for 500 bucks and if i was old enough way back then and working, i could have got a NIB one for way less than that. 

its like when i bought my Kadet upper it was 250.   My Kadet pistol was 370. 

So you need to buck up and buy if you want.   I know ive posted about this before and it goes in one ear and out of another on some, but thats ok for them.   

Maybe 10+ years down the road when you may want to sell some of your toys or when you retire and decide to sell them or maybe look at the price years down the road, you may look back and think....bleep, i got a great deal considering what they go for now.   And then some new kid on the board will come out and say ".....why is so and so, so expensive?....."

I remember while going to College, I worked Graveyard at an all-night Liquor Store
The same guy(s) came in, every morning, for Coffee and a Pack of Smokes
The morning, Smokes went from $0.45 to $0.50 a Pack, they ALL said; "That's ridiculous, I'm gunna have to quit buying these bleep things !"

Just tried it today. The SP-01 Kadet magazine will not work in a CZ-75B/CZ 75 Kadet II combination.

However, the steel lined Kadet II magazine will work with the SP-01/SP-01 Kadet combo.

I’m just looking for the kadet kit, hopefully some deals pop up but as others have said, this isn’t ten years ago.
