Shadow 2 mag release paddle removal
« on: August 03, 2020, 02:13:46 AM »
Well I attempted to remove my mag release paddle.  I knew it would be tough so I went real slow with pressure and heat and the screw still started to strip so I stopped.

I'm sure the screw is toast now why is ok, since I'm replacing the paddle and screw.

So advice in how to get it off now?  I was going to super glue a bit to it lol or just drop it off at the gunsmith....... I was going to try a dremel and make a slot but that would ruin the paddle which I dont want to do.

I would try heating the scerw up. Then use an easy out. I have read that CZ locktites the screw in the S2 mag release.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I found a few threads were people used a soldering iron to hear it up.   I don't think my heatgun got it hot enough so I will try that today

IMO a soldering iron is the best way to apply direct heat.  Better than a heat gun or even a torch.

Nice, glad that you got it handled. Gunsmiths usually have a bag of neat tricks.
