Shadow 2 and small rifle primers ?
« on: September 05, 2020, 09:21:23 PM »
I loaded some federal small rifle match primers into just brass. Test fired and 18 of 20 went off all appeared to be seated properly. I then ordered CZ extended firing pin and reduced spring test fired just primers and everything seems good.  I do not have a problem with a more powerful hammer spring = more trigger pull weight?  for reliability. Just wanted to ask here if anyone has experience with small rifle primers. Hammer springs. Thanks

With a 13# hammer spring and extended firing pin, I have not had any problems setting off SRP in my SP01 Shadow

factory mainspring is in the low 20s. Dropping to the 13# (with the extended firing pin) will drop about 5# off the DA pull. YMMV

It’s 20# iirc. I have used Winchester SRP on shadow 2 with an 11.5# main spring and extended firing pin without any problems at all.

With the 11.5# main spring, DA is 5# 3.2 oz and SA is 1# 9.9 oz. I also polished the trigger intervals using Professor Atlas’ polishing guide.

Never.

I wipe it dry with alcohol when I do a complete tear down.
