Shadow 2 Kadet with Magwell?
« on: September 08, 2020, 07:48:16 PM »
Hey guys,
Has anyone tried running a Kadet kit on a Shadow 2 with a CZ magwell installed?

Does anyone make basepads for the Shadow 2 Kadet mags that would enable them to be used in conjunction with a magwell?

Any input would be appreciated.

Since the Magazines for the Shadow 2 KADETs are a Poly Mag, I'm not sure if the Base is a seperate piece or not
They could be (and most likely are) a solid / one piece Mag, and the Base is not removable
You may have to machine / grind-off the front of the Base(s) yourself, to accommodate that Magwell
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

Thanks for your input!  This is what I was fearing...

Hopefully the polymer mags drop free, if so, grinding the basepad down doesn't seem like a huge deal.

Did anybody try this in the meantime? about to buy the kit but also have a Maxwell installed so wondering if it will drop free or if new baseplates can be installed on the kadet magazines. Thanks for the help

I have a SP01 Kadet kit and the mags that came with it say SP01 and Shadow 2 and I can tell you that they do not fit my SP01 with a mag well. Also looking at them they are one piece poly and the base plate is part of the mag. So you would have to cut to fit the mag base plate to fit the mag well. Now I can't speak for the Shadow but I am using the Kadet 2 metal mags with the SP01 kit and they function well but they also would have to be trimmed to fit because they are short mags with a bigger base like the factory 9mm 10 rounders. In other words trim the mags or lose the mag well.

You have to shave off the front of the basepad on the mag:

I got the magwell that Armory sells and all I needed to do was bevel the plastic baseplate, mostly the front corners. Worked out just fine.

Good deal. Now go out and shoot, smile and repeat.
