Milling p10 F slide for optic
« on: September 10, 2020, 05:38:52 AM »
Need help and info on milling the slide on the p10 F because here in australia unfortinately we cant get the optics ready p10. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What optic mounting plate do you recommend buying seeing as the slide will be milled. Should i buy a shadow 2 optic plate?

What optic will you be using? Usually you have the slide milled for a specific optic and don't need a mounting plate. You typically only need a mounting plate when a slide has a generic cut, which is the case with factory optic-cut slides.

To the best of my knowledge, the shop will mill the slide so the ACRO can be clamped on (see image), but if there's any doubt contact whoever you're going to use for milling and ask.

Becauae like many things firearms related australia is bleephouse. Not many shops if any at all have direct contact with suppliers overseas. They buy through a third party who buys from overseas contacts.

How much does that affect the price?

Without knowing what people in the US and europe pay, ill give you a comparison on some common guns.

Sig p320 xfive legion sells for $1500us
Glocks typically $7-800us
Cz shadow 2 $1500us

Not to mention the hoops we have to jump through to own handguns. We have to be an active member of a gun club and shoot a minimum of 6 club matches a year just to keep our handgun licence. Long arms are easier to obtain. Then we have caliber restrictions, we cant own anything higher then a 38 super/special. Unless you have a specific collectors licence which is more training and licencing.

There is a Guy in NSW who mill's the slides to take Factory OEM optic plates either the S2 or the  P10F or plate which you buy to suit the optic you are running with. Reach out to either Sebo Weapons.com or CZ-Part.com both have the plates usually in stock for around $50us plus $5us postage, he has done 2 x for me plus numerous others with no issues.
There are two official importers for CZ Handguns in Oz the larger business doesn't do much for supporting sporting shooters the other in NSW is more up to speed with the product.
