CZ Tactical Sport

Hello,

Are you guys able to drill holes for a thumb rest and grind down the mag release button and tap it for a screw on a CZ 75 TS?

I’m in CA and it’s a lot cheaper for me to buy the discontinued Tac Sport than the TSO ($1500 vs $3500).

I want to turn this:

Can do the thumbrest ( mill frame for pocket and drill and tap)  mag catches tend to be very hard steel, so its a bit to do this, but  can do. just time and money.

Thanks for the info.

What’s your typical turnaround time on something like this?

I did the drill and tap for the mag release on my 2018 TSO. It’s hardened steel and either use a carbide bit or anneal it first. I used the pad from a shadow 2 mag release. I also had to grind it down a little bit to compensate for the thickness of the pad.

It’s not hard if you have the correct tools I.e. drill press, carbide bit etc.

Actually, I did see your thread about this but I just don’t have the tools to do this on my own. Maybe down the road, but not at this time.

I tried replying to your PM but couldn’t. Just wanted to say thank you and I’ll be reaching out once I have possession of the firearm. Appreciate everything.

That’s true. Having the proper tools makes a huge difference. That plus the time to get it done. I also modified and installed pads on two TS mag release for a guy over at the Enos forum.

Wouldn’t it be easier and probably cheaper to just replace the mag release with the paddle version?

Yes it is.

I did this before CZ came out with the shadow 2 style mag release on the newer TSO. Since I have the time and equipment, I decided to do the mod since it wasn’t hard at all.

Didn’t realize that it would fit the TS. I heard they were different...is that false? If so, I’ll just go that route!

The new mag release for the TSO is wider than the mag release for the shadow 2. They look similar but the width and cutouts are different.

One set is for the shadow 2 while the other is for the TS/TSO and Czechmate. You need to buy the ts/TSO/Czechmate version for your TS.

You can buy the new mag release from the IPSC and Sebo store and install it on your TS.

The "new" version of the TSO come with the paddle version of the mag release.  So they started to sell aftermarket/replacement one for them.  Be sure that you buy the correct part and not one for an S2.  Check with Stuart / CZCustom, they may have them available.  If not, then as George16 mentioned, they are available.
