527 Carbine rear sight?
« on: November 09, 2020, 05:51:50 PM »
CZ factory rear sight numbers go from 1 to 4.  Anyone know what number goes on a 2001 223 Carbine?

Mine is a 2015 and it uses a #4 rear sight. Sorry it doesn't answer your question but hope it helps.
My rifle is a 223 carbine.

Thanks,  that might help.  I know the twist rate on our rifles is different but if the front sight on both 223 18&1/2" carbine barrels is the same it seems they would both use the same rear sight.  I tried CZ parts but the guy I talked to didn't know.  My front sight's a #14.  Do you know what the front sight # is on yours?

Starr1, thanks again for the info.  Disregard on front sight#.  Just found out the rear sight on  mine's a #4 too.

If you know how much you want to adjust your point of impact then there's a formula on Brownells site that will tell you how much sight adjustment you need. After you know how much sight adjustment you need then find the front (shorter equals higher impact) sight or rear (shorter equals lower impact) sight that comes closest to the measurement from the sights you already have. There are 4 different rear sight heights and 14 different front sight heights offered by CZ so you can generally come pretty close.

I love the open sights but my shooting nowadays is at 150+ yards so I have mounted a scope. My scopes started out small like a 2-7, but they have grown to a 4-12 and the rear sight has been removed to accommodate the larger reticle. The little carbine handles it very well and looks good doing it.

Thanks for the info David S.

Starr 1,  I'm trying the opposite re scope & open sights.  I had been using a 2-7 scope as my right eye was 20 40 with glasses.  After cataract surgery 5 weeks ago I've got 20 20 vision again, corrected.  Don't know if I'll stick with it but I'm going to give the open sights some use for a while.  That's one handy rifle without a scope.
