My new KADET 2, 2.0
« on: November 12, 2020, 08:26:17 PM »
Well I finally got my "I really don't need it" / 'cause "Daddy likes you better" new style KADET 2, "2.0"
CZUB, in all there wisdom, changed-up their KADET 2 a couple years back
Seems that they started making their new CZ75 KADET 2 with a full length Rail Upper
More on the line of the B-SA or SP-01 Slide Profile
And as I understand it, CZ no-longer offer the standard 75 style, tapered at the Muzzle, Slide profile
I noticed (while putting my KADET Gen 1 up for sale) that all the ads for the KADET 2, the sellers were still using CZ's original Picture of the CZ75 KADET (Gen 1) and not that of a KADET 2
No-one was using a Picture of a KADET 2 .... all but CZCustom, and they're using a Pic of the newest style KADET 2
Checkout CZ-USA's own listing .... look closely at the Picture:
https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-75-kadet-adapter-ii-22-lr-adj-sights-10-rd-mags-will-fit-omega-system/
CZC's Pic:
https://czcustom.com/cz-75-kadet-adapter-2-cal-22-lr-black-polycoat-91610.html
Ang get this .... the Part Number .... they are all the same .... CZUB never changed the Part Number !

'nough about that .... anyway
Like I said, I finally got my KADET 2, 2.0 and got it fit to both my Frames
Total time; about 10 mins
Filed the side of the Barrel Lug and skuffed the PolyCoat off of the first 0.25" of each Rail
Fits like a champ on both; My B-SA, and the Brushed Stainless:

What can I say .... I like the looks of this Slide better
Now to get it out and give it a good test run
I'll report back on that   8)

All my (other) .22lr Pistol Conversions
The Colt ACE:

The Glock 20 AA:

The Witness Large Frame

Thanks T
I love it when the Conversion emulates the Parent
The B-SA                                                                                                     The KADET 2 (2.0)

The Delta Gold Cup                                                                                       The Series 80 Colt 22 Conversion

The Glock 20SF                                                                                             The Glock AA20/21 Conversion

The Witness Longslide                                                                                    The Witness 22 Conversion

Hard to tell'em apart   8)

A nice set of conversions!  Even though I have a few dedicated .22's, I'm in agreement on the parent emulation.  Just seems right.

I have a Kadet pistol that I acquired used that runs everything I throw at it.

I have a Kadet kit that I had the barrel threaded for my 75B.

I have a Kadet 2 kit that I converted the magazines for my PCR.

I have a EAA Witness large frame kit for my Elite Match (.38 Super).

Well, we finally found time to take the new KADET 2 out for the first time today .... I'm not a happy camper
My old KADET (Gen 1) ran 100% .... accuracy; was pin point
This new K2: reliability; not even 60% .... and because of that, we really couldn't get the Sights dialed-in    >:(
As most know, I am not happy until I can get all of my 22 Conversions to run reliably on Federal (550) Bulk
So .... it looks like this one'll need a little extra "Den Luvin" before the next outing    ;)
We'll report back on how THAT goes !

The new Kadet running 100% out of the box would be too easy.  May it give you just the right amount of trouble.  :D

What kind of reliability issues were you having, Den?
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

What kind of reliability issues were you having, Den?
You name it ....
Failure to strip, fail to feed
Light Strikes, fail to eject
Wait .... did I miss any ?
I just have to take the time a do my magic on this one too
I'll get it running 100%, just like I had my OG KADET Kit
It's just a bummer I have to start all over again
Thought maybe CZ would have worked out a few of the "bugs" by now !

Alright...i had assume that you had encountered the common Kadet issues that allot of folks seem to have. I had not guessed that you had all of the issues that a Kadet could have. Well, you are better equipped to deal with the situation than most. Hopefully break in will take care of some of it and the rest will be fun to trouble shoot.

Yeah, I'll take them all on, one at a time
Fail to strip - most likely full rearward Bolt travel issues .... not Mag, 'cause they are all my OG Mags
Fail to feed - again, a Bolt travel issue or Extractor issue
Light Strike - could be one or more of several things .... not Hammer Spring, 'cause it's the Stock B-SA Spring and worked great on the old Unit
Fail to eject / Stovepiping - Bolt travel issues .... I already gave the Ejector its Angle Mod ( but may it needs more ? )

Common Denominator ? .... Bolt Travel
So as I address one, it "MAY" solve some of the others too
I may need to give the Rails on the Bolt a little Luvin, along with the Forward Bolt Guide and Channel
The Rear Shoulder of the Firing Pin may need a bit more attention, along with a little FP Channel and Pin Body polishing
Next, pull the Extractor and clean it and its Slot up a bit
I will succeed !
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !
