No need to get wordy, what distance? I am thinking 25 yds. This is shooting at the range where 99.9% of us that shoot a Scorpian shoot.

25 yards is good for shoulder fired 9mm.

25 yds, then check your holds at closer and further distances from 7 to 100 yds.

I may try at 36yds and see what happens with that as far as closer and further out.

My Skorp is braced, the accuracy I have experienced so far is hole on hole resting on a notched piece of stiff foam at 25yds with irons. I have been having some optic failures, would like to co-witness an optic using a low mount, I have ordered a Vortex Crossfire that should be here this week.

I am actually looking for that sweet spot that will have me bleep close from a wider range of distances like say 15 to 75yds, where hold over is far less of a necessity. I am more of a so called combat shooter, on target, lots of holes.

There are 2 schools of thought for me regarding this, and they both need to take sight height over bore and bullet velocity into account:

1: The bullet will rise to the dot but no further

2: The bullet will rise over the dot, then drop back down below

If you are sighting at 25 to 50 yards, 2 is what is going to happen, obviously.

With 1, close shots will need to be aimed below the dot, but they will be very predictable at medium range, and you never "overshoot" the target. Longer shots than the drop will be fail

The alternative option with 2 is to resight in the dot at a longer range, and you sight it when the bullet drops, not raises. Then double check your closer range impacts so you know what is happening. For a PCC I would want it to drop to the dot closer or at 100yds, or more specifically the max range where I can identify a target as a threat, and also remember at that range it takes around 1/3 of a second for the bullet to reach the target

Wow another great video explanation that saves me a lot of ammo and trial and error. I am going to sight for 25yds and be done with it.

So the next question is my Skorp has a red laser/light combo from Olight. Would you also sight that laser for 25 yds?

Same as optic, and then verify what your holds are at closer and further distances.

Sighted at 25 with red dot.  Minute of man at 100.

I sighted my Scorpion at 25 yards and it’s dead on at 50 and even at 100.
I have an Aimpoint CompM4 on it, I haven’t zeroed the back up sights yet since it had the factory CZ sights and they were too low for my liking, it has Magpul now.

I don't recall ever having to make any adjustments to my factory irons. When I first attempted to sight in I was getting hole on hole accuracy with the factory setting. I keep the little adjustment tool in my grip along with the other tools for adjustments and tightening.

I like the factory steel sights but I have an ACR stock with a StrongArm brace on it and it’s almost impossible for a proper cheek weld, they sit too low.

I sighted mine in at 25 yards using cheapo 115 grain ball.  I doubt I'd shoot it at anything farther away than that.
