....Yes they have not been perfect and yes they have some issues....
I'd say that's letting them off pretty lightly. At the end of the day, a group like the NRA that is highly dependent on membership has no more important currency than the
trust of its members. The slimey, crooked leadership of the NRA broke that trust with many of us, and the ways that it did so aren't just "some issues" - they grossly abused the funding we gave them, expecting that money was going to be used productively, and instead they spent it on funding their lavish lifestyles in ways that didn't further the cause at all. And this isn't just about LaPierre - the entire management of the organization knew it was going on, many of them also participated in it and allowed it to continue for years. They became thoroughly rotten at the very top of the organization.
We absolutely need a strong, vibrant 2A organization now more than ever, and I really hope this opportunity allows for a new,
much more ethical, organization to step into the void and do that. But I have zero sympathy for the demise of the NRA - they did it to themselves.
