How much of the members funds are in that CSB LaPierre's pockets and tucked into offshore accounts? That's what I want to know. I hope they don't reincorporate here in Texas. Don't want those SOBs here. Stay in NY where they belong.

I wont speak ill of the NRA, over time they have done a great deal of good and Im proud to be a life member. However there certainly are questions about the behavior of certain leaders. That needs to be thoroughly hashed out, and any wrongdoing addressed. The bankruptcy no doubt has as at least one reason, financial protection from the suit filed against the group in the present location. Though I wouldnt be surprised to learn mismanagement was also involved.

The NRA is the oldest lobbying group we have that has fought to maintain our 2A rights. Yes they have not been perfect and yes they have some issues to iron out but to paint the whole organization that way sounds EXACTLY like the left painting all of us who voted for the orange man as not American.
Can you imagine the party the left will have if they successfully destroy the NRA. I would not care to see them that happy.

I'd say that's letting them off pretty lightly. At the end of the day, a group like the NRA that is highly dependent on membership has no more important currency than the trust of its members. The slimey, crooked leadership of the NRA broke that trust with many of us, and the ways that it did so aren't just "some issues" - they grossly abused the funding we gave them, expecting that money was going to be used productively, and instead they spent it on funding their lavish lifestyles in ways that didn't further the cause at all. And this isn't just about LaPierre - the entire management of the organization knew it was going on, many of them also participated in it and allowed it to continue for years. They became thoroughly rotten at the very top of the organization.

We absolutely need a strong, vibrant 2A organization now more than ever, and I really hope this opportunity allows for a new, much more ethical, organization to step into the void and do that. But I have zero sympathy for the demise of the NRA - they did it to themselves.

I don't disagree with your larger point at all. But apparently on some level the NRA didn't agree with that point, or they wouldn't have stolen our money. Freedoms can be lost due to laziness or complacency, but they can just as easily be lost to corruption.

Do not worry, 149 years of history cannot just vanish. Some may not be happy about the current leadership but NRA is not a single person... it's 5M people Organization.

I agree with this.

They need to do some housecleaning, but the NRA remains the largest and therefore the most capable organization to continue the fight. United we stand, fragmented we wont. Things are looking pretty bleak as it is.
