watching my mail box for my RMR order
« on: March 10, 2021, 03:53:04 PM »
I've been watching my mail box for my RMR order.  This morning I saw my mail carrier at our mail box and went to pick up my mail and found a notice that said Sorry we missed you while you were out. This is my third bullet order I've had to pick up at the post office in the last year.  Do your mail carriers refuse to handle heavy packages ?

lol - no! of course I work from home and watch the mailbox like a hawk so I usually meet them. Ive had a threaded barrel get "lost" for 3 weeks until I complained about it then magically showed up 2 day later. they "left it by the mailbox"...I thnk that was FedEx though.

Local mail lady pissed me off today too - I spend $40 shipping 2 boxes and she can't spare tape for 1 small box, right before they close for lunch - special trip to the dollar store then back right at 11:59 by my phone but CLOSED, another special trip back and all that.... 1st world problems...

It happened to me twice after the regular postal lady retired. She used to knock on my door to let me know my “heavy” box is in her truck so I can go and carry it myself. Every major holiday like 4th of July or Christmas, I give her a $25 gift certificate for being such a nice person delivering our mail.

Once she retired, her replacement sucked so bad that our whole subdivision complained to have him replaced because of his laziness and inability to drop off mail and packages on time. He always put the notice on doors without knocking.

Now, we have a better postal personnel delivering our mail and packages .

So when the post bends and the mail box is touching the ground, then you know your bullet order has arrived ??

Something like that ?   ;D

Some FedEx deals only take the package to the nearest post office. Then they "allow" the USPS to take it the last mile to the house. I'm not sure how the USPS makes any money doing this, but the handoff always stinks, and the customer certainly looses.

FedEx by law can't put anything inside your mailbox. But they certainly shouldn't be placing items out on the road "next to the mailbox", especially with all the package hijacking going on. My latest UPS package delivery messages include a photo of the package sitting on my front porch.

Not sure what I'll do when I retire, but I have them shipped to work so they don't get stolen.  Can't say I make the work post office folks too happy.  A lady worked here for 30+ years - would always call me to tell me my "ammo" was here sitting where it was delivered (because she couldn't move it) and I'd come and get it.  Every year I'd get her something as a thank-you.  New folks - well - lucky if I even get the required email saying there is a package for me.

The "ammo" was anything that was heavy - even car parts :)  I miss that sweet nice lady!

So far, all of my heavy reloading orders have been brought to the door by our postal workers. But I'd be okay with them telling me to come fetch it from the local post office. Some pretty heavy boxes!

No Wobbly in the past I've had a deal with my mail carrier to stop in front of my house and I go out and get any heavy packages. We must of had a sub. carrier yesterday because just now my regular carrier came to my door to tell me a had another package from RMR I'll remember her next Christmas.
