« on: April 05, 2021, 07:06:22 PM »
I am looking at a used P-01 decocker  and I am not sure if it is the Omega system or the regular system . How can you tell ?
Thanks for any information.

Omega gun will have Omega symbol on the slide.
also trigger will appear to be straight.
decocker levers will move downward at the front side of lever., standard P01 decock lever will move down on the rear side.

I think Omega lever is ambi.  My P-01 BD decocker lever is on left side only.

I've never shot an Omega to compare, but I know I like the ergo of the rear-facing lever on the BD.

If I remember correctly, the Omega not only has the horse shoe looking icon on the slide, but generally speaking also starts/is sold with the safety installed instead of the decocker. I believe, but don't quote me, that the safety models will have a red dot on the body to denote the safe/fire modes as well.

:) Guys, I think there is nothing more to explain here. As you (hopefully) know, Stuart is THE person who answered the question in 100%  ;)

Possible, I've only seen the Omegas for sale on Gunbroker.com, so like I said, I'm not exactly sure if that was one of the things or not. Stuart is also correct that the trigger is straighter than the large curve of the non-omega models.

Re: safety as default, that wasn’t true for mine.

I've bought two Omega P01s and four P07/P09 pistols and all came out of the box with the decockers installed.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

No, they definitely can come with decocker as default.
Mine did, and the safety parts were sealed so the dealer hadn’t switched it. And I’ve seen others in stores with decockers installed.

hey , here'sone for you guys : is there anyone here that has taken out the decock lever so it will be only DA/SA with no decocker ? Will it function this way or does it need any parts to "fill" the void of the springs from the decocker in the frame ?

Omega systems can be switched.

Standard P01s can not.

Mine came with the decocker installed and the safety in a little bag.
Thanks

Ditto, de-cocker is the as shipped condition. I have seen some P-01 Omega's with a curved trigger, even though the Omega Icon was on the frame.
