NEW CZ 457, Old shooter, need peep sights

New, aged owner... Just got the 457 Trainer & shot it today.  The stock iron sights will need to be upgraded..(I see "2" front posts, eyesight) I've found on this forum info that is outdated/parts no longer available, etc..  But some parts are still in stock...

I actually grouped decent at 25 yds. but 50 yds is not going to be good.. What is usable today?
I would think some type of globe front (w/ 17A adaptor?) circle front should be good for my eyesight?, proven Williams style rear.  HELP IS WANTED...Mike

Williams peep sight, CZ-USA store SKU #19012, $75. The store list it as fitting the 452-455 you might ask them if this works on the 457 series. The scope mounting dovetail the Williams sight mounts to is the same thru the 452-453-455-457 series. In the centerfire sights part of the store they offer the fiber optic sight blade "Front Sight 527/557" SKU# 5571016001 $15 (listed as out of stock) that fit the earlier Trainer rifles front sight by simply swapping the blades.

The 452/455 Williams sight doesn’t clear the 457 bolt handle from my experience.  I have Skinner receiver sight on one of my 457 rifles.  A Williams WGRS would probably work, with the correct width for the dovetail.

I haven’t tried changing the front sight on my 457.

I have the Williams on a 452 but I've no experience with the 457's. Thanks for the correct answer aasbra.

"NOT IN STOCK /obsolete" seems to be the CZ story.. (Some of this is a guess as no pics. available?. ) CZ part # 19015, is this the adapter, I must have to adapt the single screw front sight to a globe style?. For the rear sight, looks like several "peep" sights are still available as of this date. I tried the "RP" inserts that fit the stock CZ 457 mid rear sight and they don't work well with the stock CZ 457 front blade for my eyesight .. CZ does offer a red fiber insert for the front sight but of course it's "Not in stock" (CZ USA typical response)... This could help me???.. The only option I can see ..is to have a "dovetail" cut into the barrel, then guess what the globe height will work with a peep rear???

The extent of my front sight swapping with CZ is I use a 455 trainer front on a 452 Full Stock rifle with a Williams peep. So take what follows with the proverbial grain of salt. Brno (think early 452's) made target peeps and target globe sights. I know they have been use on 452' and 455's but weather they would on a 457 I cant say. They are scarce and pricey but might be one other option. You might try looking for some photos to see if you think a fit was possible and then look or ask for a more definite answer.

Thanks...... A call to William's proved useful... Their rear peep is out of stock... Said to try a air gun store as 11mm ramp is common= parts on the way....from Pyramid Air. Anyone able to confirm front sight screw size is 3mm or 3.5 mm?
