CZ 83 new production

The CZ 83 is obviously the most perfect gun ever made [.32acp]. I wonder why CZ refuses to reinstate it, as well as all of the original replacement parts?

I agree.  However there is just not enough demand in the states for 32 ACP especially when we have all these micro 9mm that are almost the same size and weight.  Just purchased a used Beretta 81 in really good shape after finally giving up on finding a 83 in 32 that was not $1,000, or in really bad condition.

I don't own a CZ 83, I have an 82 so I'm curious and trying to learn something here, what is it about the .32 that makes it the most perfect rather than the .380?

The ?eská zbrojovka Vz. 82 was made for the Czechoslovakian military.
The civilian version is called the CZ 83.

Here are a couple of Lucky Gunner articles on the CZ 83.

These are straight blowback style actions. Some owners state, the felt recoil of the .380 ACP is not mild and quite snappy. This is due the fixed barrel and the slide mass taking up the recoil vs. a modern 9mm. I have read very few negative “firing” comments on the .32; other than it being an anemic caliber. This brings us to the final difference.
.32 ACP (7.65mm Browning) - 15-round magazine.
.380 ACP (9mm Browning Short) - 12-round magazine.
IMHO

As far as the .32 ACP being an "anemic caliber", I would think even a .22, let a lone a .32 ACP, would be effectively lethal at close range. The differences of ammo weight in the guns magazine as well as an extra carry mag and the higher magazine capacity of the .32 ACP far exceeds the benefits of carrying the heavier larger 9mm or .380 round.
