Bren 2 MS Carbine SBR
« on: April 28, 2021, 01:19:06 PM »
I picked up a Bren 2 MS Carbine recently for a great price from a guy who needed some cash.  I'm an 07/02 FFL and have plenty of experience cutting/threading barrels and have no problem with the gas port tuning.  I have yet to find anyone who has cut down a carbine though and was wondering if anyone has seen one done.  The gas system on the carbine is obviously a lot longer than the pistol variants and I'm trying to see if I can get away with going to 11-12" without it not having enough gas to run.

Thanks

Dan

Got it cut down today. Runs like a champ. Pictures are giving me trouble.

Edit, fixed the huge photo width.

The suppressor is a Griffin M4SD-K

Irons are Knight's Armament

As for the timeline, as stated in the original post I'm an 07/02 FFL (manufacturer of firearms other than destructive device) so when I make an NFA item I can do all the R&D work I need to and then file the Form 2 once it's complete.

Oh and my HBI Parts came in this weekend so I installed the trigger, sear, selector levers and charging handle.  Trigger is A+ would recommend for the first upgrade to anyone!  Oversized controls are nice too but functionally the trigger is huge.

What length did you end up cutting down to? Does the balance/weight seem any different?
