I struggled last week with my new over engineered, very sturdy wrist rest. I simply couldn't eliminate some jerkiness while lining up the dot on the 100 yard target. 20 mph winds in the forecast for Sunday morning, I decided it may not be a day for small groups, but might be good for experimenting. So, I went back to the 4x4 with a full 9mm ammo box and a microfiber towel for the Sunday shoot. This actually worked out pretty well, see the video below. I didn't edit out the time between shots so you could enjoy the wind as much as I did!
https://youtu.be/WaXkiOcieCASo, we are back to the flexibly ammo box wrist rest for now.
The other thing I learned is that the high wind just wears me out mentally. I shot a few more rounds after the targets in the video, but with less than good results. I even tried the P-10S. 10 rounds and I called it quits. I was whipped from chasing stuff that flew off, making sure the cameras didn't get blown over, and chasing paper targets. Would have been a good day for steel, assuming I could make the wind calls. That is a big assumption, so I skipped that potential ammo waster also and went home.
As usual, the P-10F+sight+ammo all performed perfectly. Shooter needs work.
This is fun most of the time. This isn't easy, that's for sure.
