Disappointed in my P10C trigger pull
« on: June 11, 2021, 02:26:34 PM »
Recently purchased a near new P10C from a shooting buddy.  He got rid of it because the trigger was so unpredictable.

When you pull the trigger the pull weight can vary from 4-5 # to 10-12#.   If I lightly pump the trigger it may go off at 3# or so.

Another buddy has one that I have shot and the trigger is great.

Before I dig into it, I thought I'd ask what I should be looking for

first thing i would do is take the pistol apart and thoroughly clean it. once it is clean i would inspect all the parts that have to do with the trigger pull of the pistol. not sure how many rounds are through the gun total but the pieces that show signs of wear are a good indication of what moves during operation. inspect these areas meticulously for rough surfaces or imperfections that would contribute to the symptoms you discribe. a dremel with the shank of a cue tip chucked into it is a great tool for polishing any areas that are questionable. i use metal polish and either the side of the cue tip  or the end of the cue tip to get into all the nooks and crannies. once polished the parts can be cleaned and lubed were appropriate and then see if your condition improves. another way is to clean and blue the internals and cycle the pistol to see what wears and what doesn't to see if any contact points are rough or causing issues. seems odd that the condition you discribe could vary the trigger pull that much. i know on my p-01 the pull weight was off 4 to 6 oz. from a fresh cleaned and lube pistol to one that has been fired. good luck and please report back with what you find. the info may help others with similar issues .
