Anyone try to fit a Yugo mag??

Yugo mags have a BHO so............ anyone try to fit some poly Yugo mags into the 7.62x39 Bren 2? Just looking for an economical & plentiful option to factory mags.

No way that would work on a Bren 2, same reason a normal AK mag won’t work.

Now there is a US made replacement lower for the Bren 2 for @ $250 that will take AK mags and AR trigger groups, the name escapes me but Dan Haga sells them on his site. But they don’t use an actual BHO mechanism since they use AK mags. I have to question the actual usefulness of the ersatz Yugo “BHO” mag follower, anyway: once you remove the mag, the bolt slams home anyway and you have to rack the bolt anyway with the new mag to load the first round. The Yugo “BHO” follower doesn’t accomplish all that much.

BHO in an AK is really just a gimmick IMHO because AK receivers don't have an activated bolt carrier catch like an AR or the Bren 2 but the Yugo mag does have the ability to activate a receiver mounted BHO. When you yank a BHO Yugo mag out of an AK the bolt assm slams shut. I dismiss the hybrid lower DH sells because it's just a huge step backwards for the Bren 2. It gives it all the features of an AK and removes the useful modern feature so......... just buy an AK instead.LOL!  I was thinking, grind off the front and rear mag locking tabs (no need to "rock n lock" when you have a modern mag well) and cut in a mag catch notch on a poly Yugo mag.
