TSO bottom surface barrel lug has gouge marks.

Stripped down the TSO for cleaning and noticed the bottom rear 45 degree face of the barrel lug has gouge marks. Gouge marks are deep enough to catch on my finger nail and stop the nail from sliding across the surface. I carefully looked at the inside of the frame and all internals parts and surfaces, but can't find any spots that would cause the gouge marks. Is it possible that this damage came from the top of the magazine? I'm not even sure the face of the barrel lug even comes in contact with the magazine.

Anyone experienced this or have seen this kind of issue?

   These marks appear to be located on the underside of the Barrel feed ramp. This is not an area that influences the function of the pistol in Barrel lock up or cartridge feeding. Unless they are really bugging you, as long as the pistol functions properly, i would disregard them. It is likely that these machine marks where made during Barrel manufacturing process.

I am interested to hear the input of other forum members on the subject.

Like TOK said just part of the machining process. I can find similar marks on my guns as well. Nothing to worry about.

Correct, it's on the underside of the feed ramp. Thank you all for your feedback. The pistol functions without any issues. I am at ease now.

That’s not normal. I just checked my 2018 TSO’s barrel and there are no markings like that whatsoever. I recommend marking it with a marker, rack the slide a few times and see where it’s rubbing. If it’s not rubbing anywhere, then it’s a manufacturer scratch or defect.

Here’s a pic of my TsO’s barrel with over 5k rounds through it.


If you’re bothered by it, call CZ USA and see what they say.

Some guns show tool marks while others do not. Some have marks in areas where others are clean in that area. I've seen it in my CZ's and other European makes as well. Depends on how often they change worn tools out.
