How is the primer and powder situation in your area?

Yeah, it's a good time to upgrade if you shoot a lot and are looking at the math. Even with what I'm paying for reloading supplies in todays market, it's less than half the cost per round of even the low end brass range ammo. I upgraded from a Dillon 650XL to a Dillon 1100 with bullet feeder recently. I'll have it "paid off" (I paid cash for it, but you know what I mean) in no time. Got good money selling the 650 too.

I'm just trying to upgrade what I can now since I'm not spending all of my spending cash on supplies and such. I run a Lee turret and use my auto-disk on my 9's and 45's and it does great. But the Lee perfect powder drop is awful, IMO. Next on my list is a new scale. I just don't know which one I want.

Ended up going with Frankfort Arsenal platinum series scale. Got it on sale for a little over $80. Everything I've read and everybody I've talked to seems to like it and has good things to say. Now I hope I can get back into full on reloading sooner rather than later

Was in a local farm supply store a couple of days ago. They had just gotten in 40 twenty round boxes of 270 Winchester ammo. This is the only hunting ammo I've seen locally and it's a week before the Montana general gun season. A lot of people are going to be scrambling come Saturdays opener.

Looking at some of the suppliers, is $60/k gonna be the new normal when we reach price discovery?  On a positive note .22 LR seems to be starting to show up, and I finally picked up a NIB Czolt Python at one of the LGS for under list. $1402. Now I guess I'll have to wait another year for the new CZolt Anaconda.

I've been super happy with the Lee Drum powder drop on my turret. Between that and the disk style for handgun, I very rarely use the PPD anymore.

I've been super happy with the Lee Drum powder drop on my turret. Between that and the disk style for handgun, I very rarely use the PPD anymore.

My uncle runs on of those. He said the same. I’m loving my new Lyman so far. Just wish I could get back full throttle reloading

That’s about what I spent on the last brick I bought of CCI small rifle magnums. I did, however, find some federal SRP for about $5 a sleeve. I’ve been able to find small rifle pretty regularly just no small pistol for a decent price. A place had some Bosnian SPP and they wanted $250 for a brick lol

Hunting ammo has been SCARCE here as well from deer to Turkey loads to bird shot. One poor guy had pretty much driven the whole state trying to find some.


Kind of has me in a predicament because I’ve got me a new red dot for my Turkey gun, but I hate to put it on and use any of my Turkey loads because I can’t find any

I used to deer hunt with a buddy that would get 10 years out of a box of .270.  1 round before the season to make sure his rifle was still sighted in, then 1 round to kill a deer. We shared the same box of steel shot for a few years shooting ducks, just so we had some if the game warden wanted to check us. Lead shot? not us. Here check my pockets oh those spent hulls floating on the water somebody else must have left them. Based on previous shortages .22 LR starts to show first, then on down the line.

I don't have a "local" shop that carries powder, primers or bullets. The closest is 250 miles away so I depend on vendors like Powder Valley, Graf's etc for my supplies. I have a supply, but until things become available online, I can't replenish what I have

Went on a little drive yesterday. Seen a ton of .22LR, a lot of people going crazy trying to and buying up all the hunting ammo, small rifle, large pistol, and shot shell primers, and slim pickings on powder. Bullet selection is starting to grow it appeared. Apparently I had just missed out on some SPP (what I was after) but the guy had said they’ve been getting more in than they have for last year and a half. So I guess that’s good. Starting to need some LRP but still got quite a bit. Hopefully things are looking up
