My observation from the Puget Sound area of Washington State is that reloading supplies and common caliber ammo is most often, not available at a local retail outlet and when it does arrive it is not on a shelf long...
I see 9mm - .22lr - .45 acp ocasionally, (they are available at the range I shoot at, 9mm is $22 a box, .22lr is .10-.15 per round) but I have not seen a primer on a store shelf in a very long time... I was at a Sportsman's Warehouse the other day and they had no common caliber ammo or reloading supplies.
Primers sell on local firearm forums for about $100 per 1000, and that is down from higher prices earlier this year.

In Poland, the situation with primers is bad, there are big shortages in shops, there is no primers since August. Some stores accept orders for the delivery of Fiocchi primers for November. Russian primers Murom and Ginex primers from Bosnia and Herzegovina are also available on the market. At the moment I have over 5,000 Fiocchi primers, next Thursday I am picking up 7,000 Fiocchi and Ginex primers, this is my annual requirement for the 9mm Luger. The gunpowder from Reload Swiss is available practically all the time, Czech Lovex will not be available in stores until January. There is no problem with the bullets, they are relatively available, except RG Bullets from Spain - in my opinion best bullets for target shooting.

One of my shops had Ginex but wanted $250/1000. I passed. I need them, but I’m not willing to pay $25/100 or $250/1000.

In Poland $4.30 (100pc box) for SP or $4.33 for SR. I use both for Luger
Fiocchi costs about $5.17 for box, 150pc, MUROM primers cost about $4/100.

OK, I have some 2nd hand news that may be good for us all, if it happens to be true. which I'm still 50/50 on.
Yesterday I met a fellow to buy some camping equipment that also likes high end 2As. He is from Va and said that the stores up there have tons of ammo and no one to buy it at the current prices. Like pallets in back and such. And it was all the stores, not just 1 or 2. I see a lot of similar around here at Cabelas in AL, although I normally just skip the factory ammo. Still looking for primers mostly.

Went by a local gun shop today and they had a decent amount of ammo but High prices, I don't buy factory ammo so no biggy but there were guys asking and getting certain items. I was just looking cuz I was in the area, its a place I have gone to for 40+ years. I was talking with the owner and just asked how things are going and it's still the same story, I can't get anything !! Just amazes me that some places have stuff and some don't,I asked him about powder and he said he doesn't even try anymore! I told him I grabbed 10LBs a few weeks ago online and he was amazed that I got that. Times are still tough locally but if you scour the interweb there is stuff out there, keep plugging away I guess!

Seems like I’m starting to see powder slowly trickle in and then dry up. I use HP38 for my pistols and was able to get some of that recently. Still need some SPP. Hopefully soon hopefully soon

I can find powder with little problem, primers show up now and then. I just found 500 SPP but paid 6 cents for them after tax. My bet is 5 cents will be the norm. If I stay on the hunt, I find enough to keep my stash from shrinking. seem like thinks might be getting a little better but a long way from seeing primers on the shelf.

When you consider that there's probably a lot of people who decided they ought to get into reloading because they got caught with no ammo available, and the existing reloaders who had stocked up but now need to replenish their stock, and the ones who hadn't stocked up but learned their lesson and are out to build their stock deep, plus the increase in manufacture of cartridges- I'd say you're right- it's going to be a looooong while before stores can keep primers on the shelf.

I advise everyone  to keep their ear to the ground.

In a local (Florida) online gun trader I found 9k LP primers for $40 a thou, at a recent gun show 6 pounds of red dot for $88 (I use it for 9x25 mostly) and another who was deceased and the widow was selling off the reloading room but I missed that one.

At gun shows primers are plentiful and the price of 1k primers is ~$90 but they're not flying off the shelves, and gunpowder at $80 and up per pound is not selling either.

Regards,

   Gary

Still going for $80 per K at Cabelas? I stopped buying when they jumped from $65 to $80.

I don't think I'll ever see $65/k again. I passed on 2k primers at $100 recently.
