Need to ID a CZ Handgun - See Pic
« on: August 20, 2021, 09:40:50 AM »
Hi,

This belonged to my grandfather and has no model marking on it. I would like to see what it’s compatible with in aftermarket if anyone can ID it for me. Thanks.

It looks like a Zastava to me, maybe an early M70 in 7.62 Tokarev.

It doesn't resemble anything in any of my CZ books.

I can't quite make out the engraving on the slide from your picture.

Could you please type in the markings from both sides of the gun?

I'd suspect the best authority to query would be CZUB itself. The markings would seem to indicate it was manufactured for a Spanish Speaking country. the curators or historians at the company's arms museum should be able to supply the information you seek.

I'm not an expert, but it looks like an early CZ 75 to me.  It would probably be easier to ID if the slide wasn't locked back.

Is this from Cuba or Nicaragua?

I'd love to see more pictures of this pistol.

Scott

This looks to be a Browning Hi-Power pattern pistol and not connected with CZUB/CZ-75. “Republica Checa” marking would imply it was made after 1992 to reflect the separation of the country. What kind of proof marks does it have, eg., the commonly seen Bohemian lion superimposed over the letter N?

Definitely looks like a Browning Hi-Power of some sort.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)
