Josef & Fratisek Koucky are the CZ engineers that were responsible for these various rifles: Brno #1,ZK- 371,ZKK-600, and(variants) others numerous others. These facts & many others are in:(  Rifles of the World: 1st Edition-ISBN 0-87349-150-5 & 2nd Edition-ISBN 0-87349-202-1 , both books cover lots of info. that are not covered in each other. A wealth of information which is'nt covered by other book. Happy reading!

Once again Fred, you prove your worth. Some think that I know a bit about Brno/CZ'z...I pale in comparison to folks like your self. My only thing that I have going for me is that I have a long standing love affair with these things. ;-)

Doc, you have lots more than that, you want to inform the public with lots of helpful CZ knowledge.Lots of people out there are shy(or for other unknowned reason are not posting) doing so keeping a wealth of info. in reserve only for themselves, sadly old CZ/Brno owners are slowly fadding away. Help keep your favorite pastime alive:POST,POST,AND POST AGAIN.

The major problem is that not much info. is out there concerning CZ. Being in the U.S. will help a lot. Public will demand CZ published info. The editing house which published the few books on Czech firearms & Ammo went belly-up (so it is said)a few years ago.

Keep up the good work,
---Fred---

Fred,

Thank you so much for your kind words. Me thinks, at times out side of these CZ forums, that I may come across a little too much in favor of the CZ'zs. (how ever, I never take down others weapons) You know it is not because I haven't shot many other weapons...I definitely have. I just find them (CZ'z) a "cost effective vs performace" way to spend MY gun money. ;-)

I think that the nature of some on forums in general is to be conservative in nature due to the onset of flameing. I too think this a shame, 'cause I am just happy to hear about peoples' CZ expeirences ...not just tech stuff.

I will where I think it may be helpful or appropriate. I am afraid that my many posts in response to CZ oriented messages abroad may start to overwelm the audience.

Let's sure hope.

Doc Ken,
My nickname is Tiger {still haven't figured out why yet} and before I really got into shooting .22s for accuracy my main gun was a 270. By the way I gave up on the gun that I ordered and am driving to Dallas, about 2 and a 1/2 hours, tommorow to pick up a varmit at Rays Sporting goods. Then on Sunday it's off to Nite}{awks for a trigger job. Keep the info coming!!!

Well I went to Dallas but an ice storm blew in and it took 5 hours just to get there.4 hours to get back. Can you tell that I really wanted this gun? Imagine Dallas traffic on ice!!! I won't be able to shoot the new gun for a month until my nerves calm down. By the way in Rifle magazine they wrote a very good article about CZs. In the article they did mention the Kouky (sp?) brothers. Ya'll thought I was getting off topic for a little while didn't you 8^) .
