CZ 457 At-One Varmint to KRG Bravo Conversion
« on: October 13, 2021, 07:36:53 PM »
In September, I bought a new CZ 457At-One Varmint, at a gun show, I’m very impressed with the CZ mechanism, I’m very much unimpressed with the Boyd At-One stock. To me it’s like a 7th grade wood shop project, that got a C-. The finish was rough, I got slivers off it, the adjustable cheek and butt plate pieces, need a pry bar to move, the adjustment lock buttons barely move, etc, etc. I gave up and replaced the Boyd stock with a KRG Bravo chassis system, I like it a lot better already. Hopefully will get to go to the range tomorrow.

I post a picture, but apparently I can’t

You must have got a Monday or Friday built stock.
However I do agree it looks and feels like a first year shop c- student designed and built it. Needs to be a little thicker I think.

The rest of it , we’ll it’s a $200 dollar stock.

At times I still can not believe, I broke down and bought a second CZ 457 At-One Varmint, this one the Boyd stock is excellent, smooth, great finish and the adjustable pieces actually adjust. I did spent about 15-20 minutes checking it out before I bought it.

I’d say you made an great rifle even better. I’ve owned numerous KRG products, and all have been amazing. Their lower end items (Bravo) won’t feel the same as their higher end stuff (Whiskey), but they still work surprisingly well. I’m looking at getting a Bravo for my 457MTR that I plan to use at local NRL22 matches soon.

I’m not surprised, LOL. They really are a great upgrade! I really like the MTR stock, but the adjustability afforded by the Bravo is hard to overlook. Plus, I won’t feel as bad about beating up a plastic stock! Did you get the adjustable butt pad as well?
