Hello. Sorry for the rookie questions but I was shooting my new CZ Scorpion pistol and really enjoying it.  Was having fun with the accuracy and then lost it, very badly.  I tightened the flash hider and got some accuracy back, then lost it again.  Back home I have taken it off but there is also a thread protector in there that I believe is what was loose destroying accuracy. The thread protector rattles loose in the flash hider but will not come out.  If I tighten the flash hider the thread protector is loose?

How do I tighten the thread protector?

Option 1: Remove the birdcage off, remove 1/2x28 thread protector, clean the threads, put some BLUE loctite on threads and reinstall 1/2x28 thread protector, reinstall birdcage.
Option 2:  Remove the birdcage off, remove 1/2x28 thread protector, reinstall birdcage.
Option 3: Remove the birdcage, install the 18-1 thread protector, remove the 1/2x28 and install your choice of 1/2x28 muzzle device.

Thank you. It seems my thread protector is stuck in the bird cage. I thought it was suppose to be that way? I'll try to tap it out.

Well the 2 pieces are meant to be together. The thread protector will not seperate from the bird cage. But tapping it with a punch and brass hammer made it stay so it would thread on first then the bird cage. I'll pick up some blue lock tight and I think I will get this.

The thread protector is not meant to stay in the compensator.

It is likely a that bullet strike has embedded the protector in the compensator.

If that compensator is what you want that will work or just find a normal compensator it is not necessary to have a thread protector installed to shoot.

Thank you. That is exactly what happened. Since the part is defective with the bullet strike (cannot separate) I'll get another one. Probably the HB Industries.
