Removing magazine plug from CZ 612
« on: November 11, 2021, 01:55:45 PM »
Hi, new to this forum, and a new 612 owner. I was hoping to get help with a couple of questions. The first concerns removing the mag plug. I've tried to follow the directions in the owner's manual with no success. The manual isn't real clear to me. I've tried to press down on that "indent" on the bottom of the tube with a screwdriver, with no luck. Also what is the choke on this gun? All I can find is "fixed choke". Fixed what? Full, modified, improved cylinder? Any help with any of this is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Lol. Had same issue. The "choke" is nothing more than a rod with a small head on it (like a nail without a point). Unnscrew the cap on tube, turn gun upside down and it should come right out. The head of the choke looks like part of the tube end. It's not. You may have to pull it out with your fingers. No tools required.

My gun has a "tab" on the bottom of the magazine tube that needs to somehow be depressed in order to remove the cap and spring from the tube (after unscrewing the main outside cap). I cannot press down hard enough on the tab to be able to turn and release the cap and spring.  The tab is that stiff.  And by choke, I meant shot spread.  My gun has a fixed choke and I was just curious if it was a fixed full, modified, or improved cylinder choke, regarding shot pattern.
