CZ P01 Polymer Parts
« on: December 16, 2021, 01:19:27 PM »
So my LGS finally got in some CZ, and I was drawn to a p01. I gotta say, I love the grip and how it feels, but wanted to know just how interchangeable the parts made of polymer are with the older CZ steel parts, I.e. the guide rod, slide stop, mag release, and decocker (not sure if I'm missing any).

The only thing made of plastic is the guide rod. The rest are steel.

First off Welcome to the Forum!

Yeah I'm confused.  The P01 is an alloy frame compact pistol with a rail.  Are you referring to the P07?  It has a polymer frame but all the parts you mentioned (aside from guide) rod are metal.

Not sure what you are after but the P01 was originally certified by NATO and came with the NSN number engraved.  I think they let that certification expire as some point but the pistol (in stock form) is very reliable as are most CZ's off the factory line.  Replacing the polymer guide rod with a steel unit is simple if that makes you feel better.  It doesn't need anything to be a workhorse but as with all firearms you can perform some upgrades to make it nearly perfect for your taste.

The ergonomics are where CZ's really shine and that is the most difficult thing to fix on a firearm.  The natural point of aim and grip angle are what drew me to CZ's.

There are quite a few interchangeable parts across the CZ lineup.  The P01 has an alloy frame and thus get's it's own slide stop (shared with other alloy frames).  The trigger and most other action parts are interchangeable.  There are plenty of sight options depending on what you want.  There are plenty of very well respected custom shops that can tune it if so desired.  Plus there is a wealth of info here to help guide you if you decide you want to tackle it yourself.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Toby
