ARMS Mount Heads Up

If you are using a front rail like NEA or BS, you might want to look into the ARMS quick detach mount:http://armsmounts.com/shop/mounts/a-r-m-s-31-aimpoint-micro-mount/

It is made to fit the 'universal' Micro system, and it is LOW.  e.g. - I have the MD-25 micro, and while it WILL cowitness on the VZ 58, it does so ONLY on the "U" setting of the rear sight.  With the ARMS I can actually get a slight cowitness on the 100M setting.  SO this mount is likely the lowest available and I think having the cowitness feature is actually an advantage - even the most durable optic COULD crack.

Very nice. I ordered a BS fore end. It’s on backorder but “available”. However BS won’t respond to my emails inquiring about any info on time etc. so I’m not sure I’ll ever receive it. If I get the fore end or even just an assurance that it’s in the works I’ll definitely buy this mount. Good find, thanks for sharing

Let me also throw out a caveat.

The base system is not necessarily universal to all micro systems.  The MD 25 base doesn't mate perfectly and when tightened it still has some space there.  The square key in the middle isn't tight.  The mount DOES lock down with the screws provided and seems to be fine as long as you use a form of blue lock tite.  I believe it will prove secure.  The screws from some sights (Holosun) seem to work.  The screws used with the ARMS mount will fit a micro sight, but are SMALLER than normal heads so that my smallest TORX won't fit, and I have to use a small Allen key for now. 

BS like other smaller manufacturers (e.g. RSR) seem to be way behind and its a shame.  Blame the socialist experts running the nation at least in part.
