1st Tanfoglio Striker Fired Pistol !?!
« on: January 07, 2022, 04:59:42 PM »
I've been aware of the development of this gun for at least a couple years. Now it seems we have a timeframe for it's state-side arrival which should be late 2022. It is the IFG/Tanfoglio Force ESSE 9mm and is, to the best of my knowledge, Tanfoglio's 1st striker fired pistol. It is essentially an IFG/Tanfoglio Defiant Force Plus 9mm except it has a replaceable front sight, different style slide w/front and rear serrations, a sweet looking trigger, and is striker fired. It's somewhat comparable in size and weight to a CZ SP-01 Phantom. An IFG rep told me the MSRP on these is $776 which seems too high to me. I see them being listed in the $600-$650 range but that's my opinion. I absolutely will be buying one when they become available. Any thoughts from my fellow clone enthusiasts?

My thoughts?  Lazy design, just like Grand Power Q100.  Hammer fired frame with a striker slide.  The advantage of a striker is a lower bore axis ability.  This frame does NOTHING to take advantage of that.

I like it. Considering the CZ derived design it's already got a lower bore axis. Clean looking weapon. However, I still like a hammer.

Manual safety on a striker won't be welcomed by the American masses. Regardless of if we like the gun or not.

I'm also disappointed with no optic cut, at least based on the photo.

I agree with you on the lazy design. I’d like to see a 100% new gun, or at least a new frame design. I’m a Tanfoglio guy though so I’m still in.

I think a manual safety on a striker fired pistol is a little more popular than you might think but I get where you’re coming from. Personally I’m a manual safety guy. I’m just used to it. I do own two pistols without a manual safety but they have an extremely long and heavy double action pull.

Yeah, I don't deny there is a market for it. Especially say in Massachusetts.

But the sales numbers I've seen in the past and what all the cool guy influencers say, it's just not going to be a huge success.

I do wish them the best luck though. I hope the design sells enough for them to continue with the project.

I'll buy one simply because I'm such a CZ clone whore.  $776 is a pipe dream.  They'll be a hard sell at half that price.

Agreed and agreed.  ;D I fancy myself a CZ clone “lady of the evening” too. I think $499.99 is a fair price for one.
