CZ Tactical Sport Orange
« on: January 28, 2022, 07:08:59 PM »
Gas petal is causing support thumb to constantly bang up against slide release.  Removed gas petal and noticed small hole between 2 screw holes and possibly a roll pin in hole.  Is it safe to shoot without gas petal?? Wouldn't want a part to come flying out while shooting! Thanks for your attention

I'm fairly sure you can remove it without issue.   I chose to remove the slide stop and run the straight pin instead.  I just put a piece of grip tape over the slide lock hole.   It really declutters and frees up space on the grip.

Cheers,
Toby

I've taken the gas pedal off of mine. Covered the holes with Talon rubber grip tape to keep the dirt out and provide a non slip area for my thumb to rest.
 Works great!

You can remove it without any problems. Like Toby, I removed the slide stop and covered it with a piece of grip tape.

Thanks all for the help.  I'll put grip tape over the holes but it never occurred to me to remove the slide stop.  That might work better for me as I really like the gas pedal, just thought it should have been a little bit further north on the frame!   jrent

George:  Thanks for the pic - for some reason I'm not allowed to communicate with you directly!  Question; how is your pistol able to function without the slide stop? Turns out my issue isn't with the gas pedal (which i like) but with banging into the slide stop under recoil.  Removing the stop would solve the problem but what holds the slide to the frame?

I'm not George but can vouch for him, LOL!

The pin version is the same pin-section as a regular slide stop that's held in on the other side of the frame by a tension wire that fits into the detent groove on the pin's end.  So there's still a pin holding the slide from sliding off the frame.  Like a regular slide stop, it is removed by aligning the reference notches on the slide/frame and pushing on the protruding part from right side of pistol.  So it is the same as a regular slide stop, but without the outer lever and your slide will not lock back on empty mag or manually.

Not a big deal for those who never plan to shoot until slide lock anyway and just reload with large-cap mags where appropriate in a stage, if even needed.

The TSO comes with both a straight slide stop pin and a slide release lever slide stop pin.   It's just a matter of installing the straight pin.

Gentlemen:
Thanks for all the help and direction. Appreciate your clearing up my question of what holds the slide to the frame!  I'm obviously a newbie when it comes to the CZ TSO, haven't gone through all the parts in the suitcase yet.
