front sight removal issues

Hi guys -
First post here. Bought a CZ P-01 Omega and a Dawson Precision fiber optic sight from CGW. Slide off the gun, roll pin removed and I'm having a difficult time removing the front sight, even after repeated whacks. I'm already at the point I feel like I'm hitting it much harder tan I should be, and it's not moving.

I'd like to remove the front sight without destroying it. Does someone make a front sight removal tool that slides the sight out the front? Anything I've found is a drift tool, side to side, which won't work. I've used the "punch" DP provides with the sight, and a hammer, and it's not moving it. Any ideas I haven't thought of are welcomed. Thanks!

Hopefully you have the slide clamped in a padded vise so it cannot move or deflect. The sight will come out you have to hit it harder than you think it needs to be hit. Use the aluminum punch that came with the Dawson sight and even if there's some transfer onto the sight it will clean up.
There are those sights that are exceedingly tight and you may not be able to save it. I've had a couple that were tight enough that I simply used a cold steel chisel and blasted them off. What you don't want to do is chance damaging the slide trying to save a crappy sight that you will probably never put back on.

Put a few drops of Kroil on the site and let it soak overnight.

Heat helps as well, use a hair dryer to prevent overheating unless you feel confident with a heat gun.

 Yeah, that works much better than hitting the sight itself.

This style CZ front site goes into the slide in a longitudinal dovetail and must be removed the same way. One way in and only one way out.

Did that on my Duty P07 but they were plastic sights.  Came off easy.

I know I did it on another pistol, too, just don't remember which one.  But I used to see the chunks missing from the plywood every time I sat down to do some reloading (till I changed benches.)

I laid a piece of scrap wood on the edge of my bench to prevent damage.

I can't thank you guys enough for all the good ideas.
It was easily the most stubborn sight I've removed.
A combination of letting it soak with some WD-40, in a vice, and I used the tip of a flat metal file wrapped in shelf liner, that gave me a larger surface area than a screwdriver, but worked on the same principal.
Looks like the CGW fiber optic sight is going to need some sanding to make it fit, but I don't expect any issues.
