P09 will not fire in double action consistently.
« on: February 21, 2022, 09:41:13 PM »
Hello Everyone,

Just got a brand new P09 suppressor ready.  I have not even fired a round through it yet. When I got it home I put a laser bullet in it to get a feel for the trigger.
Single action works fine. When I fire in double action the hammer will not go all the way down about every three out of four trigger pulls. It will just go to half cock.
I thought that maybe the decocker was installed incorrectly so I swapped it out for the safety. The double action will not engage at all with the safety in place.
I think I got a lemon but I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and if they have a solution.

Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Since it is brand new, give CZ a call and they will make it right wihtout a doubt.

1-800-955-4486. They will make it right. Sorry you had that issue with a brand new pistol. Did you test fire at the store - not a slam, just curious.

Will it function properly with the laser bullet removed, or with a snap cap?

You have to shoot it first before you call CZ.

Did you try dry firing without the laser cartridge?

I'm a little late but here is your problem: Your trigger bar is dropping off the lifter down to reset before the action stroke is finished. So either the double action roller is way to big, or more likely your trigger bar spring is under tensioned or not engaging the trigger bar at all. If it is the trigger bar spring with too little tension then the fix is simple. Remove slide from frame, cock hammer, disengage trigger bar spring, pop it out and bend it a very small amount at a time to put more upward pressure on the trigger bar.

Edit: if it is working properly in single action then it is almost definitely lack of upward pressure from the trigger bar spring.

Agreed.  I had a similar problem a few years back and this was the culprit.
