CZ 85 Combat
« on: March 04, 2022, 12:51:31 AM »
Hi folks new to this forum.  I have a CZ85 Combat and I would like to remove the rear sight that came on the gun for a different rear sight.  I removed the elevation screw and 2 springs which allows access to top of dovetail.  I was hoping to see Allen screws but instead I see what is possibly a cap covering screws beneath? any help would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want to go any further until I know exactly how to go about the rest of rear sight removal.  thanks in advance

On my 85 Combat the factory rear sight appears to be staked in place. There is a hole located at the front center of the sight. Through this hole i can see the staking mark. While i can not be 100%, having not removed the sight, i am thinking that there may not be a set screw.

The 22LR Kadet uses the same rear sight Let us see if someone who has pulled one of these rear sights contributes to the thread.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

So… I got both 85 c and dedicated non b kadet. Who has found the best rear sight to put on with the dip in the slide? I just block out the dots .but would like a solid sight that sits a little farther back

For sammy, a video sample

Installation of dawson sights on sp01-- relevant for most cz models-that sight pusher is inexpensive. I bought one and it worked fine..

Locknload, you ought to email dawson or other sight makers.
Also LPA has a website that shows sights for specific cz models. You can cross reference product number and find a local vendor..

thanks for all the great advice everyone.
I ended up chucking my slide in my shop vice.  used a brass punch and a light hammer and to my surprise the original site started to come off without any issues. waiting for my new site to arrive and will hopefully go on as easy as the old one came off!

Thank you for the follow up, we all learn from this stuff. May your new sight installation go well.
