Well, that would be stupid if the existing mags aren’t compatible with the new gun, since the current mags are almost universally compatible across many manufacturers and weapons platforms and they work well.

A lot of times these days, ya gotta wonder, WTF is CZ thinking.

The ad states that it is backwards compatible with the older mags.

I believe it says the mags are backwards compatible.

WTF does “backwards compatible” mean?

Do you stick it in the magwell backwards? If the old mags are compatible with the new Scorpion, why not just say “they are compatible”?

WTF, CZ???

Innovation and advances are great but it detracts from it when companies drop support for the previous models. Not saying CZ did that here but several other companies have. Guess they gotta make money somehow.

Because the old mags DON'T work in the new gun.

The new gun uses an AR15'ish magazine catch and doesn't have a slot in them.

Therefore, all existing scorpion mags won't work in the new gun.  At least not unless you have a mill and are able to mag the mag catch slot in the mag body.

Said the new mags work in the old guns too, but the old mags won't work in the new.

Well that’s fricking stupid. Nobody who’s invested in the previous model Scorpion (or other compatible PCCs) and a pile of mags is going to want the new 3+ and have to invest in yet another pile of incompatible mags.

CZ seems to be working hard to find innovative new ways to gouge their customers.

I wont be in for one at this point. If I run into some throw away money, maybe, but unlikely.

Not sure what the mag 'back compatible' means exactly; my reading was that the mags would work.  Time will tell.
Can't say I'm unhappy with the current gen, and there's a tax stamp for mine; lotta trouble changing it.

Looks like they kept that knuckle bruising safety lever.  That’s unfortunate, but good for the aftermarket manufactures I guess.

That's the inexcusable facepalm, as far as I'm concerned. That safety lever has been universally panned by just about everyone that has ever shot an Evo, and they finally get around to redesigning the gun, and they keep that the same?!

It is obvious the old magazines won't work in this version due to the mag catch.  Not a very smart move CZ!

One of the YouTube reviewers who had a sample to review said that the placement of the safety is different so that it doesn’t interfere any more.

Ok, that's good to hear.
