For those who have both Shield and Shield Plus,
WHY DID YOU

1. keep both OR
2. sell the Shield (1.0 and/or 2.0) or consider selling

there is no wrong answer of course.
Power to you!
The Polk County resolution includes  a clause
to the pro-resolution stance. It says,
“The criminal misuse of firearms is due to the fact that criminals do not obey laws, and this is not a reason to abrogate or abridge the unalienable, constitutionally guaranteed rights of law-abiding citizens."

I had a Shield 1.0 and currently own a Shield Plus.

I got the 1.0 in 9mm due to all its rave reviews. I wanted to like it but ended up not liking it at all. Thought it was uncomfortable. Also, after having owned a few M&Ps and others, I've come to accept that I hate hinged triggers.

I came across a 'can't lose' deal on a Plus, so I bought it. I didn't expect to like it, given my prior experience w/ the 1.0, and because I also have a P365 that I'm very happy with.

The Plus is a winner. The trigger is probably the best they've ever put on an M&P. There might be Performance Center variant I don't know about, but you're not spending 2-3X the cost of a base model to get an improved trigger either.

The grip texture is a happy medium between 1.0 & 2.0. The increased grip thickness for the higher capacity mags also makes it much more comfortable to shoot.

The mags are expensive at close to $40 street price, so that Bug Out Bundle w/ the three extra mags is a good deal. It was only a few months ago that a base Shield Plus w/ two mags ran $500-550.

I picked up a Shield when they very first came out. It was a 40SW model. Then about a year later I transitioned to 9mm. I installed Talon grips and a full Apex trigger kit on that 1.0 9mm and it was perfect. I carried that 1.0 model until the 2.0 model came out. Lack of grip texture was solved with the M2.0. I still installed an Apex kit and 10-8 Performance FO sights.

Then the Shield Plus was announced. I considered jumping right in, but decided to hold off for two main reasons. One, I was already heavily invested in the original Shield mags and two, the Plus mags at the time could not be found at all. So, I told myself that the small increase in capacity was not worth rushing to find one, but if I came accross one later for a good price I would get it.

Then a few months ago I found a guy selling his. He had installed Trijicon night sights and had three holsters for it. I went ahead a bought it from him for a better price than a new one. I really like it. The slightly wider grip is nice and it fits all of my original Shield holsters. The grip texture is not as rough as the M2.0 Shield, but it is better than the 1.0. I am still keeping my other Shields though. The value on them is pretty low since the Plus came along and it is good to have back ups. I really love all Shield models over all.
