To keep or sell dillema
« on: April 30, 2022, 04:06:55 PM »
So, I rapidly got addicted to the classic CZ 75/85 platform recently. My favorite LGS had an Israeli Surplus CZ85s for sale. When I realized they were fully ambidextrous (I'm a southpaw) I got it. Upon research it is a 1994 "Transitional" model with squared trigger guard, ring hammer, and pinned front sight but no firing pin block.

In another store I found a NIB CZ75B Omega made in 2017. So of course I had to get it too.

Then the original shop told me they had a couple more. Upon inspection, one was a 1987 Pre B with spur hammer, rounded trigger guard, milled I'm front sight, a different type of finish. It also says made in Czechoslovakia instead of Czech Republic like the others, so I put it on layaway.

Ok. I don't really need THREE of these (though I love showing the progression from 1987 - 1994 - 2017) and furthermore, the shop had a LEO Package Scorpion Evo 3 S2 that comes with all sorts of upgrades, 7 mags, and a backpack that I'd like to get off layaway faster.

SO. I plan to keep the new Omega and one of the CZ85s. I'm leaning towards the earlier "Cold War" one. Any opinions on flaws in my thought process and are Transition models "rare" enough to warrant holding onto both?

NOTE: I'm on my phone and haven't figured out how to upload photos here, so here is a link to my Google drive for pics.

Thanks!

No way in heck I'd give up any CZ 75/85 for a Scorpian. Once I buy a CZ it stays with me. Just MY opinion, we all have them.

If you give up any of them you may never find another. I've only ever seen one in the shops around here. It's an '08 model and I'm hanging on to it.
I've found that growing up in the sixties was a lot more fun than being in my sixties.

Like the people before me, keep them, yes you need them, and you need more of them.
the 85 isnt produced anymore so they are real collectors items and only go up in value.

Sell the Evo.  Keep the pistols.  If you must, sell the Israeli one.

DON'T SELL THEM!
Unless of course you want to sell them to me.
No target is too large or to close to miss.

the only flaws are when you sell something you dont want to.

If you need to wait longer to take them off layaway, then it takes longer.

its really up to you what you want to do.  If putting things on layaway puts you on the street in a cardboard box, then you should rethink what you are doing.  but you can spend yourself onto the street if you wont.  No one will stop you just like picking up taking drugs.

if you plan or want to buy/collect more guns in the future, maybe put things on hold after you do all the buying and think/consider what you want to do in the future.  Chances are this wont be the last time this happens.

Its what i did when i bought my 1st gun.  way too many calibers, makes and models than my wallet could afford...

good luck

Look, you have come across some uncommon samples.
Does lightening strike twice at the same spot?
You did the right thing to snatch them up.
I bet you will not see many of the same anytime soon!
