So, I rapidly got addicted to the classic CZ 75/85 platform recently. My favorite LGS had an Israeli Surplus CZ85s for sale. When I realized they were fully ambidextrous (I'm a southpaw) I got it. Upon research it is a 1994 "Transitional" model with squared trigger guard, ring hammer, and pinned front sight but no firing pin block.
In another store I found a NIB CZ75B Omega made in 2017. So of course I had to get it too.
Then the original shop told me they had a couple more. Upon inspection, one was a 1987 Pre B with spur hammer, rounded trigger guard, milled I'm front sight, a different type of finish. It also says made in Czechoslovakia instead of Czech Republic like the others, so I put it on layaway.
Ok. I don't really need THREE of these (though I love showing the progression from 1987 - 1994 - 2017) and furthermore, the shop had a LEO Package Scorpion Evo 3 S2 that comes with all sorts of upgrades, 7 mags, and a backpack that I'd like to get off layaway faster.
SO. I plan to keep the new Omega and one of the CZ85s. I'm leaning towards the earlier "Cold War" one. Any opinions on flaws in my thought process and are Transition models "rare" enough to warrant holding onto both?
NOTE: I'm on my phone and haven't figured out how to upload photos here, so here is a link to my Google drive for pics.
Thanks!
