CZ PO-1 Omega
« on: May 21, 2022, 02:44:03 PM »
New to the forum and my first but not last CZ pistol I will own! My question is can the decocker lever on the right hand side of the gun be removed(for left hand operation). I am a right hande shooter and I’ve ordered 2 holsters now with the description and model of the gun but they both came with no room for the right side decocker to ride in so they don’t fit. I knew I should have probably got the PCR which doesn’t have a decocker on the right side. I am finding there are certain holster manufactures that make them specifically for the gun but the decocker on the right side just takes up room in a holster. Appreciate your input. Thanks

Are the kydex holsters?

If so you can heat that side up with a heat gun and form it to make a slot/groove for the rights side lever.  I did that for my P01 Omega (with the safeties installed).

The gun would go in the holster and move the safety levers from safe to fire.  Used a heat gun and a screw driver blade to form that notch/groove in the side of the holster.

Might take a couple/three attempts to get it exactly like you want it.  Heat it up and try forming it.  If it won't push to form the groove, heat it up a bit more till it gets soft enough to work.  Then just let it air cool and try it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I'm not sure if you can do this simple way. Right side of the decocker is needed in order to keep the whole decocking mechanism in place. That's the idea of Omega's full ambi functionality.
You can trim it to make it flat and cerakote... but it will be faster with zero cost if you apply M1A4ME suggestion.
Kydex holsters are easy to remold for your needs.

Thank you for the responses. It answered my question regarding the right side decocking lever. Yes the holsters are kydex so I may give that a try. Thanks again

Figured I'd post a picture of the mod to my holster.  Imgur is acting up this morning and I can't even get it to come up.  Might be a picture in a previous thread/post so I'll look for that and link it here if I can find one.  If you look you can see the spot on the outside of the holster but if I didn't tell you it was there you really wouldn't know what/why that spot was there.

Imgur finally started working and then deleted my picture while I was trying to copy it.

Anyway, you can see the small bulge in the upper/outside kydex part.  My issue was, with the safeties installed, the holster would push the safety to the FIRE position when I inserted the pistol into the holster.  So I angled the bulge upwards so it would allow the P01 to be put back in the holster and then hold the safety in the SAFE position as long as it was in the holster.
