"Springfield" XDM Elite 9 - First Shots
« on: May 27, 2022, 03:21:32 PM »
25 rounds of S&B 124 grain FMJ. Freestanding (as always), outdoors from 7 yards. Single shots from the low ready position.
This is my first "Springfield" (HS Produkt) and I am very impressed with the trigger, ergonomics, and build quality.
I think I'm going to need the XDM Elite Compact .45  8) Since bad guys are wearing body-armor, this is now my target of choice.

Great shooting from a new pistol. I’ve heard good things about the Springfield XDM’S

My son just bought one of those and he says words can not describe how good it really is. I have a Springfield XDe 9mm and completely happy with it. Like you, I shoot the S&B 124 gr ammo and it is very accurate. Still, my P07 is without a doubt my favorite of all my handguns.

Thanks guys. The only thing I did before before shooting was run a bore snake down the barrel and install the large backstrap.
I had always dismissed the Croation made Springfields, but my view has changed. The XDm Elite is a fine pistol.
I'm picking up a new Walther P99 AS tomorrow, and then my next one will be an XDm Elite Compact in .45 or 10mm.

Another 25 rounds from 7 yards today. Maybe a little better than the first 25, but still not that great.
She's a nice shooter though.

I have an XDM Elite 3.8 in 9, and an Elite Compact in 10MM. They are well built, well designed pistols. Nothing fits my hands like a CZ, but these are still fun to own. I really like the sights.

Yes, they are built well and I also like the sights, but I blacked out the rear sight, which is what I prefer.

I had an XDM 4 years ago but reluctantly sold it. The trigger was great for a DA striker and it was a soft shooter.

After +60 handguns over the past 14 yrs I settled on the CZ PCR, Rami and ...... Springfield XD Mod 2 (or XDm).  The S'field is the only other brand that comes anywhere close to feeling as good in the hand as the CZ's.
PTC, but Pine Mtn will always be home.

I have an XDM Elite 3.8 in 9, and an Elite Compact in 10MM. Both are high quality handguns, and I much prefer them over Glocks. But, the 10 is my preference- it handles the round well, and is a real joy to shoot.

Thanks everyone. I ended up despising the Lame grip safety, so I traded it for a Gen4 Glock 20 10mm.
Now I can go Bear Hunting...

Since shooting 1911's grip safeties don't really bother me.
