CZ527m carbine
« on: June 06, 2022, 01:14:35 PM »
I am currently trying to rebarrel a cz527m carbine it is now a 7.62x39 I want to put a 6mm arc barrel on it and maybe a new stock.
The problem I am running into is the stock companies I contacted said a carbine is different and no stocks are made for them.

Can I take the carbine action add a 24" 6mmarc barrel and put it in a new stock ? Anyone know of a stock company that makes one

Thanks

The barrel of the older 527 Carbines have a larger diameter rear sight base. It's maybe a quarter inch wider by less than an inch long section. I don't think the aftermarket stock makers allow for this. The newer Carbines have screw on rear sights and no barrel sight swell. The only other difference I can think of is the magazine for the 7.62/6.5 are a bit wider and have their own trigger guard/magazine well. I think (don't actually know) that the external dimensions of the trigger guard are the same as the other two versions though. The actions dimensions are the same. If you're willing to open the barrel channel of your 6mm Arc on an aftermarket stock I again think (still don't know) that your going to be fine. If you can have the barrel contoured to follow the CZ 24 inch long American (slim barrel profile on the 7.62/6.5) or the 527 Varmint (heavy) barrel profile you could then just order the appropriate stock. Good luck with your project.

Thanks I saw that cz webstore has a 527 light Varmint stock but was not sure after talking with some after market stock makers if that would work. But nothing tried nothing gained I guess
