P10c controls

I've recently revisited my P10C (2018 model with ambi controls), which involved installing an HBI trigger and polishing everything up. In the process, I found some rust especially on the mag release(it cleaned up fine). This is from carry, here in SE Texas... My question is have any of you had the controls coated, TiN, or nickel boron etc.? Or is there one available aftermarket? I know I can clean/oil it, but that will be an everyday occurrence here for daily carry. Looking for a more permanent solution. Thanks for any input.

I would be interested to hear any info on this as well.... here in Alabama is pretty similar heat wise... and humidity is terrible

So maybe my question was too specific. Anyone have a recommendation for a coating best suited for corrosion resistance? I'm thinking something without much surface thickness as not to alter the dimensions. I assume the original part would be glass beaded to bare metal before coating application, and hopefully end up with no net difference.

Nitride treatment wouldn't change the dimensions because it doesn't add an external layer of new material... it treats the existing metal.

Personally I sweat quite a bit in hot weather, and live in north TX, also have lived in AR and TN, and spent a lot of time in north MS and AL, but not on the gulf coast much.  I never had any rust issues in the frames of my carry pistols.  I have had rust in the bore but I attribute that to other causes like galvanic corrosion from metal fouling or moisture wicking from carbon fouling.  Is it the gulf coast salt water causing these disparities I wonder?  The actual weather conditions, temperature and humidity, aren't all that different.

I've not had this issue with any others that I carry either. And I think it's my sweat that does it, and not particularly the humidity in the air. I don't know what gives the controls on this gun the black coloring. I'd assumed it was nitrided.

I don't own a P10 but from the looks of the mag catch in my P-07's, they do look like nitride-treated carbon steel I think, from the color and texture of the metal and the fact that it is attracted to a magnet.  I haven't heard of rust issues on the mag catch itself, but I have seen photos of one mag catch plug that holds it in place, rusted to the point where it was crumbling, from a guy who lived in Houston and worked construction, so was probably sweating all over his pistol daily and nearby to saltwater.

I may just keep an eye on it for awhile. I bought it used, maybe the PO got it wet and didn't get it dry inside. Everything cleaned up just wiping it down with oil, so maybe it was an anomaly. If it does it again, there's a local place that does some custom AR work that I'm sure can make a recommendation and coat one for me.
