Better scope for long action
« on: July 16, 2022, 11:29:52 PM »
Hello there,

I've currently have a Nikon Monarch 3-12 on my CZ550 chambered in 270win. With factory rings, I cannot move the scope back far enough to set my eye relief properly. My head need to creep forward a touch to get a clear view at 12x zoom.

Is there anyone out there that can recommend a scope that has longer turret tube lengths to fit long action?

Much appreciated
Muz

Might want to try a rail to keep that scope (so the front ring can be shifted back). I have a Bushnell 3200 in Warne QD and the front bell is almost as far back as the front ring will allow (maybe 5mm clearance). I also have a Tasco of some sort in the same rings with the same nearness to the front ring. Not quite a problem in my case. I can't offer anything definitive unfortunately.

These are both 550 Safari Magnums.

I just found this is a google search:

I didn't see a long action 550 version though - might be worth further investigation?
