"Borderline uncontrollable"..."horrifc"...you guys are killing me!  ;D ;D
Maybe try a Shield 380EZ or a TX22?
If the only response you can think of is to belittle a fellow board member, then perhaps just don't respond.

Good-natured ribbing is enjoyable.

Just wanted to be clear that I'm not posting to complain...I'd like a solution. Trying new springs this week. Stuart indicated that he'd expect the recoil difference to be minimal.

I didn't take it that way, but if you enjoy it, have at it.

Using the heavier recoil springs from Wolf has made the Shadow Line Compact shoot as soft as the CZ75 Compact that I rented. It cycles reliably now, but I've only put about 100 rounds through it to confirm.

I settled on using the heaviest spring, which I believe is 22 lbs or so.

Make sure your getting sufficient ejection, so you don’t end up with cycling issues.

How about the hammer spring?  It takes some force to push the slide back over the hammer and compress that hammer spring.  Lot's of people seem to like to replace the factory spring with a lightened hammer spring.

Then there's that corner at the rear/bottom of the slide.  The sharper the angle the more rearward force it takes to start cocking that hammer.  Again, some people have that corner rounded off to make racking the slide easier and/or make it easier for light recoiling ammo to move the slide to the rear.  Old 1911 thing (only with the firing pin retaining plate lower rear corner, not the slide.

Good luck with it.
After realizing that I don't care about a light DA trigger pull, I changed the 10-lb hammer spring out for a 13-lb spring (the blue one from CGW).

Now the Shadow Line Compact recoils about the same as a Shadow 2 Compact.

This is after trying all of the much heavier springs from Wolff, none of which seemed to make a noticeable difference.  Also, it was cerakoted by Vulcan Machine after they milled it for a red dot.

The hammer spring may indeed make a significant difference. It is noticeable while manually cycling the slide with the hammer dropped. The heavier slide of the S2C may give it a SLIGHT edge in sight movement, but my original irritation has been resolved.

I wonder if using a heavy hammer spring in my CZ85 is the reason I can't tell a difference when I change the recoil spring in it. They all eject the brass to about the same distance.

After some more shooting, I realized that I was wrong here. For whatever reason, the muzzle flip became increasingly worse over the next couple hundred rounds.

It may have been a combination of the cerakote, slide lube (that supposedly slows it down), and the hammer spring. It is a bit of a mystery.

;)  And folks here have stated (some of them) that a heavier hammer spring can also make the SA trigger pull feel crisper/better, too.  Glad you've got it where you want it.  Always a good thing to be happy/comfortable with your pistol.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
