CZ 75 Bull Shadow question
« on: August 13, 2022, 10:04:31 PM »
Will the CZ 75 Bull Shadow box fit in the IDPA box?  The box measures 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8”.  It is not the same size box that USPSA uses.

The USPSA box is  8 15/16” × 6” × 1 5/8” (https://benstoegerproshop.com/uspsa-division-measuring-box/), the same as the IDPA box except being 0.1875-in longer.  CZ-USA (https://czusafirearms.com/cz-75-bull-shadow-9mm-pistol-cz-custom/) reports the 75 Bullshadow being 8.5-in long, 0.25-in short of the IDPA maximum allowable length.  Unfortunately, no height for the pistol is given, but CZ Custom reports it to be "USPSA Production … APPROVED" (https://czcustom.com/cz-75-bull-shadow-9mm.html); thus, it can be no taller than the IDPA max of 6-in.  The 75 B is 5.4-in tall (https://www.genitron.com/Handgun/CZ/Pistol/75-B/9-mm/Variant-1), and the now out-of-production 75 Shadow, which had similar, taller combat rear sights to the 75 Bull Shadow, had a height of 5.79-in, despite sporting a +2 mag extension (https://www.genitron.com/Handgun/CZ/Pistol/75-Shadow/9-mm/Variant-1).

Looks like the Bull Shadow is IDPA-compliant.

I just stumbled on this thread. I still love mine(current fav) and will be shooting it tomorrow in limited minor. I'm saving up for another Bull slide or complete pistol just to have a pair/backup. Might be a bit though.

The rules have changed, as long as it fits the box it will be legal in ESP and SSP with a DA/SA trigger and ESP with a SA trigger.
