Staccato P - First 25 Rounds
« on: August 18, 2022, 02:58:30 PM »
Ammo was Federal 124 FMJ fired outdoors, freestanding from 7 yards. The first shot hit the left side of the orange bullseye and
then it was downhill from there. I know these pistols are supposed to be tack drivers, but I'm not sure that I will "mesh" with it.
IMO, the trigger pull should be lighter and smoother and the trigger shoe is polymer, which I think is cheesy on a $2,500 pistol.
The Dawson Precision Sights are outstanding, with a blacked out rear and green fiber optic front (my favorite setup)
My initial impressions are that it's not worth the high price tag. My CZ TSO and Beretta 92X Performance are far better. (for me)

Thanks for the report. The former STI used the polymer trigger shoe as well. I have a Ranger II 45 and it has it. The trigger is geared more for duty, so I have heard people say it is not as refined as they thought it would be.

Hello,
Have you shot it more and gotten better with it?

Nope. My youngest Son (32) thinks 2011s are the greatest thing since sliced bread, so I sold it to him.
I didn't like the grip/grip safety area or the trigger. The Staccato looks cool, but it felt all wrong for me.
This is the problem with believing all the hyped reviews and ordering one sight unseen.

Update: This afternoon I ordered a Beretta 92G Elite LTT Centurion with the LTT Trigger Job, NP3 Coatings,
Optimized Performance Trigger Bar, and Flush Barrel Cut & Crown. It includes 3 NP3 Coated 18 Round Mags.
The lead time is 6 to 8 weeks.

That's too bad, I had heard such nice things about that pistol. I am not a single action auto guy, so I really have little experience with the 1911, except in the military days.

Don't get me wrong, it's a high quality pistol all the way. My son and I hit the range yesterday and he put 150 flawless round through it.
Maybe my expectations were just way too high, but it is a $2,500 pistol.

Happy Labor Day!

Not sure if you already have an LTT Beretta, but if not you are in for a treat. Ernest does amazing things to the 92 and you will be very pleased with the trigger. I have two now from LTT, one standard full size and a full size RDO and love them.

I'm hoping to have the Centurion that's mentioned above, within the next 3 weeks. I ordered it on 8/26

That's mildly disappointing. I've been eyeballing one of these and agree that a polymer trigger seems like a cheap move.  I've never seen or held a 2011 so I really hesitate to go out and buy one.
